Helping Women Navigate a Man's World
Welcome to Backward Heels, where we recognize the limitless, but untapped potential of women.
Our mission is clear: to help women create and implement a plan for financial stability while navigating a system that was designed to profit from their financial instability.
Financial Independence is Freedom.
Financial Stability is Power.
When women gain financial independence, they gain the freedom to shape their futures. Financial stability and independence gives you the power of choice: the choice of whether to stay or leave a job; the choice of whether to stay or leave a partner; the choice of which childcare to use, or how much childcare to use, or whether to have children at all.
Financial independence is the basic starting point that allows women to begin moving from surviving to living.
Financial stability allows women to move from living to thriving.
That's where we come in.
Whether you're aspiring to launch your own business, grow an existing idea, secure the salary you deserve, explore better career prospects, acquire the skills to get a better job, or you're just not sure how to survive in a world where childcare is more than you'll make going to work: we're here to help.
Our consulting services are designed to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary to navigate a system designed by men, for men. Your success is our success, and we're committed to helping you navigate the path to a life of your own design.

Find the inspiration, motivation or kick in the pants you need to keep moving forward in our blog.
Meet Joy
I created Backward Heels to help other women navigate a man's world. We can be successful- personally, professionally, financially- even though we live in a system that wasn't designed for us. As I've begun unlearning my own biases, I've expanded my mission to include marginalized groups- people of color, people who are disabled, members of the lgbtq+ community. These are all people for whom the system was not designed either and who also need to find ways to navigate the system while we work to build a better world.
